Joocy vs Mentimeter

Mentimeter and Joocy both put live polls, quizzes, word clouds and Q&A on the audience's phones, through a web address and a code. Mentimeter suits presenters who want a free plan today, a PowerPoint add-in and controls for large organisations; Joocy, in invite-only early access, suits presenters whose own AI makes and runs the deck, whose slides can be code or 3D worlds, and who want each person addressed by name.

Prices are the ones Mentimeter showed in the United States on 18 October 2026, before tax. They differ by country: the same page also showed us €14 and €28. Where we write "we found no", we searched Mentimeter's own site and help center and found nothing.

What only Joocy does

Of the two, only Joocy lets your own AI start the live session and move its slides, lets any slide be your own code, and changes the words for each person in the room.

Where Mentimeter is the better choice

Choose Mentimeter when you need to start today, present inside Microsoft tools, or roll it out across a large organisation. Those are real strengths, and they are the reasons to pick it.

You want to start today, for free. Anyone can open a free Mentimeter account with 50 participants a month. Joocy takes new presenters by invite for now.
You present from PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom or Webex. Mentimeter has a PowerPoint add-in, and works inside Teams, Zoom and Webex meetings. Joocy plays your deck on its own stage, so you bring your slides to it.
Your PowerPoint animations must play exactly as built. On Pro, Mentimeter can embed a deck from PowerPoint for the web, and its help says the animations work the same. In Joocy, builds come through Keynote's HTML export (a PowerPoint deck goes through Keynote on a Mac) or a video export.
Your organisation needs single sign on. Mentimeter Enterprise has single sign on, SCIM and verified participants, and Mentimeter connects to Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle and Brightspace.
You expect rooms bigger than 2,000. Basic and up have no participant limit. A Joocy session holds up to 2,000 people.
A team builds together. Pro shares Mentis, themes and templates across a team, and people can edit and present a Menti together.

Is Joocy a good alternative to Mentimeter?

Yes, if your own AI should build and run the deck, if your slides should be code or 3D, or if each person should see their own words. Mentimeter fits better if you need a free plan today, a PowerPoint add-in, rooms above 2,000 people or single sign on.

Can ChatGPT or Claude make a presentation in Mentimeter and in Joocy?

Both, as of October 2026. Mentimeter's connector lets ChatGPT and Claude create and edit Mentis and read their results. Joocy's MCP server, API and skill file work with Claude, ChatGPT through Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and any MCP agent, which can also run the live session and write coded slides.

Can I move my Mentimeter presentations to Joocy?

Not as Mentimeter files. Bring your original slides as a PDF from PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides, where every page becomes a slide, then add the questions again yourself or ask your AI to add them.

Is Joocy free like Mentimeter?
